Today, Information systems (IS) are almost used every discipline, and the knowledge and awareness is very important irrespective of your future career.

1.4.1. Computer and Information System Literacy

To meet personal and organizational goals, it is important to acquire both computer literacy.

 Computer literacy is the knowledge of computer systems and equipment and the way they function it is the knowledge of equipment and devices (hardware), Software, database, and telecommunications.

Information systems literacy goes beyond the knowledge of the fundamentals of computer systems and equipment. In short, information literacy means the ability to solve problems, taking advantage of information technology and networks. Knowing how to use hardware and software increase profit, cut cost, improve productivity, and increase customer satisfaction is an example of information system literacy.

1.4.2. Information Systems Career

  Information system (IS) personal typically work in an information System (IS) department. They may also work in other functional departments or areas in support capacity.

The head of the IS department known as the IS Manager who is supposed to report to the Chief Information Officer (CIO)/ IT Director of the organization. CEO is an upper level Manager Who reports to CEO (Chief Executive Officer) of the organization in some organization, Information System (IS) manager play the role of CIO.
