CIBS is a single set of hardware, software, database, telecommunication, people and procedures that are configured to collect, manipulate, store and process data into information. All these components of CIBS define the business technology infrastructure. 









Hardware

·         Computer equipment used to perform input, processing, and output activities.
·         All Electro-mechanical devices used in information processing.
·         Computer systems and peripherals.


Software


·         All sets of information processing instruction.
·         System software and application software.



Database

·         An organized collection of facts and information.
·         Can contain facts and information on customer, employee, purchases, and much more
  



Telecommunication

·         Electronic transmission of signals for communication
·         Enable to transmit data and information through effective computer network





Procedure

·         The strategies, polices, methods, and rules for using the CBIS
·         Some describe when each program is to be run or executed.
·         Some describe who can have access to facts in the database
·         Some describe what is to be done in case disaster, such as a fire.



People

·         The most important element in most CBISs
·         Include developers and users of CBISs
